SHORT CUTS

About the Tour:

Enjoy a lineup of four ten-minute plays, tailored for young audiences! The Short Cuts Tour brings together professional actors to perform engaging and educational plays that reflect themes relevant to our community. Each show includes four new 10-minute plays, designed to be fun, funny, and fast-paced, making it an ideal introduction to live theater for children.

Tour Dates: June 1, 2024, through July 31, 2024

Note: No shows will be booked during the week of July 4th.

Duration: The show runs for approximately 45 minutes, with a 10–15-minute talkback session with City Theatre artists after the show. This discussion offers insights into the themes presented and explores careers in the arts.

Cost Options: Free for Miami-Dade Parks Summer Camps and Miami Public Library branches. Low-cost options available for other groups.

Made for Middle School audiences, the popular SHORT CUTS Tour features a cast of professional actors performing four new 10-minute plays. These age and theme-appropriate short plays are written by local playwrights who reflect our community. This fast-paced and entertaining program empowers young audiences, ages 10-14, to deal with relatable issues impacting them today. The SHORT CUTS live, in-school show is often the first time students experience live theater!

The SHORT CUTS Tour is presented for FREE at Miami-Dade County Public Schools! Low-cost options are available for private schools and community groups. To book a show at your private school or community group, please email ariana@citytheatre.com.

The run time is approximately 40 minutes plus a 10-15-minute post show conversation between City Theatre artists and students. These conversations explore themes and topics presented in the works.
